sedation

At Cheers Dental Care we want to ensure that our patients have a comfortable and relaxed experience.  In order to achieve this, some patients may require treatment performed under sedation.  Our clinic has over 30 years of experience with sedation and is well equipped.  We also work closely with anaesthetists to constantly ensure we are maintaining high standards of safety and quality of sedation.

At Cheers Dental Care we offer two different forms of sedation: Oral Sedation, Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) as well as Intravenous Sedation (Monitored Anaesthesia Care) or a combination of the above.  Depending on your circumstances and condition, our team will advise you if sedation is needed and which method of sedation is most suitable for you.  Special care patients, very young patients with high anxiety or even patients that require complex lengthy dental procedures to be performed may be suitable candidates for sedation.

Intravenous sedation (IV sedation, also known as Monitored Anaesthesia Care) is conducted by licensed anaesthetists in our clinic and need to be arranged in advance.  Procedures under IV sedation are performed at our clinic and a room will be provided for you to recover in.

Day Care Procedure Centre

We are pleased to report that Cheers Dental Care has been officially recognised as a Day Procedure Centre. This means our Centre can conduct more complex dental treatment under deep sedation delivered by a Specialist in Anaesthesia, such as Monitored Anaesthesia Care, to provide a more comprehensive range of service for our patients. Cheers Dental Care strictly follows on the Code of Practice for Day Procedure Centres which include the governance, staffing, facilities and equipment, service delivery, quality and safety of care, infection control, and other matters related to the operation of a Day Procedure Centre (http://www.orphf.gov.hk/en).
